The Golden Age Dirk
What I call "The Golden Age" of the dirk
only lasted about 75 years, from around 1675 to 1750.
This one would have been carried in 1725 or so.
Proportions are great, blade shape and size showed martial intent.
It is all business and makes no pretext of being anything other than
a weapon.

Blade:  12.5"  5160 steel
Handle:  Ebony, with thistle and triquetra carvings
Furniture:  Brass including decorative square pommel nut
Leather sheath
